After successfully launching the first season of Real Talk with Anele Mdoda a couple of years ago, SABC 3’s Real Talk skyrocketed and became one of Mzansi’s most watched and celebrated talk shows, however, it is allegedly coming to an end.
In June this year, SABC 3 announced Anele Mdoda’s exit, saying that they had decided on 702’s Azania Mosaka to continue with the season.
SABC 3 Head of Boquet, Aisha Mohamed said, “It’s our pleasure to welcome the eloquent and elegant Azania to the SABC 3 family. We trust that her contribution and enthusiasm will add value to the SABC 3 brand as well as take Real Talk to new heights.”
Mosaka's appointment on the show was followed with great reviews from her fans and viewers of the show, however, entertainment blogger and influencer Phil Mphela took to his social media claiming that he had inside scoop on the future of the show and the channel:
"I can exclusively reveal that @sabc3 will not be renewing #Realtalkon3 for another season. The show's current season will end in October but the channel will extend the contract to March 2019 and then the show ends"
Mphela went on to add that the channel had exclusively told him that SABC 3 was planning on rebranding their channel for 2019.
"The channel tells me: 'In March 2019, they are rethinking and rebranding the channel, talk shows will be part of that but they are not at this stage planning to continue with Real Talk.'" he wrote.
Azania has since been mum on the reports and the channel is still to confirm the allegations made.
