The actress has played a number of impressive characters on television, from her days as Mam'Ruby on Generations to her current roles on Rhythm City and LockDown, you can't deny that Slindile Nodangala is one of the best entertainers South Africa has to offer.
But things did not come easy for the 46-year-old actress, in the past, Slindile once shared how she used to earn R40 per week before embarking on her career in acting.
"29 years in the acting industry, when I started in 1989 I was earning R40 per week, I toyed with the idea of becoming a nurse or Zulu police, but your calling is your calling."
Although she heeded her calling as an actress, Slindile's career in the performing art has come with its own challenges as she's been jobless for long periods of time. She once shared that she was jobless for 8-months but the support from her family and friends helped her push through.
What we also found interesting about Slindile's career is that back in the 90's she was a backup singer for Stimela, she toured with the Lion King musical then eventually got one of her biggest roles to date - acting as Mam' Ruby on Generations then later on played roles on LockDown and Rhythm City.
