Bafana Bafana defender Tefu Mashamaite is currently in New York hoping to seal a deal with New York City FC.
The former Kaizer Chiefs star has been handed a ten-day trial to try and impress the management at the Major League Soccer club. What’s even more exciting for the defender is that England legend Frank Lampard and Spanish star David Villa are members of the side and will be testing our man with their attacking exploits.
If Mashamaite is able to seal a deal, it would be fantastic for our national side, as the experience he would gain playing alongside the likes of Lampard, Villa and possibly Andrea Pirlo would be massive.
