European leagues just concluded their season a week ago, but that doesn't bar any talks of what's coming in the 2021/22 season.

Let’s go over the finished campaign as well as forecast on what to expect from the next campaign, particularly on clubs that are likely to contest for the league title.

Today - we will talk about the best and biggest league in the world.

Premier League

Manchester City were the frontrunners despite Liverpool having won the 2019/20 season. There were doubts early on in the season when they were in midtable but Pep Guardiola clawed back the points and eventually steered his team to a fifth title and a third under his stewardship.

Are they still title favourites next season? Yes. City have the squad depth to repeat the feat and are expected to make few additions i.e. replacement of club icon Sergio Aguero.

Why were Liverpool only seen as second best? Well, for all the entertaining football that Jurgen Klopp has produced, his team lacks the depth that City have. Thus, questions arose as to whether the Reds could replicate their form should they miss key players.

What are their odds in the 2021/22 season? After a third-placed finish in the ended campaign, Liverpool is below both Manchester clubs in the title battle pecking order.

Can this change? Yes. Especially if they bolster the squad properly. Reports indicate that RB Leipzig center-back Ibrahim Konate is set to join Anfield for a reported fee of £35M. Midfield and forward-line recruits are also anticipated.

What about Manchester United? Are they close to getting back to the glory days? After a second-place finish and successive champions league qualification for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer might just have found a blueprint of his team. The Red Devils are expected to be serious title contenders especially if they make the necessary reinforcements in the summer.

Who have they been linked within the transfer market? Borussia Dortmund and English forward Jadon Sancho, Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, Aston Villa forward Jack Grealish, Jules Kunde of Sevilla amongst others.

Where does this leave Chelsea? Thomas Tuchel's immediate impact has seen the blues finish in fourth. Despite last summer's huge transfer spending, Chelsea is still expected to go big this time. No signings have been made yet but they're being linked with Erling Haaland, Romelu Lukaku, Declan Rice, Raphael Varane amongst other targets. They are being tipped to be the dark horses in the title fight especially if Tuchel can get the right balance and chemistry.
