Unless you are a serious follower of South African fashion, you probably would have never heard of Thebe Magugu, or perhaps you may have seen his name in passing, but one thing is for sure: you've seen his work somewhere in a magazine in the last two to three years.
The Kimberly-native, based in Johannesburg was featured in Woolworths' Style By SA capsule range alongside seven other local designers, and just yesterday the young designer was featured by Vogue Italia, showcasing his latest collection "Geology".
The collection is described as being inspired "by a modern urban woman who looks to travel to the great outdoors for solace and refuge." This is interpreted in a mix of colours ranging from oranges, to burgundy, khakhi and shades of brown. The lookbook, genuisely styled by Bee Diamondhead, and shot by Aart Verrips, is an elegant depiction of young women playing children's African games in an open field.
