Remember back in school how one’s level of “coolness” was determined by which clique you were kicking it with?
Well, it seems cliques are not something that one outgrows; In fact, even grown adults find themselves yearning to be perceived as being “cool” by the type of friends they affiliate themselves with.
Some of our well known and loved celebrities are not exempt from this; hence for most of them, being seen in the company of relevant and “hip and happening” fellow celebs could even elevate their personal brands, however, given the fickle and pretentious nature of celebville, one wonders if these acquaintances are real or not.
Below is a list of Mzansi’s A-list celebrity cliques that are real-life entourages – well seemingly.
Whereas with Lorna and Bonang, their friendship has gone as far as featuring on each other’s TV shows respectively and holidaying together in exquisite travel destinations.
“Pinky girl” is also a pivotal addition in Bonang’s circle.
Rouge has built quite a strong bond with fellow rapper, Nomuzi Mabena. Not only do these two multi-talented rappers enjoy some downtime together but they make music together as well. Both Rouge and Nomuzi are very supportive of each other’s careers, especially seeing that they work in a male-dominated fraction of the music industry – Hip Hop.
Rouge’s squad is seemingly small, with the likes of Ms Cosmo and Bigstar Johnson in the mix. However, it seems Nomuzi Mabena remains a consistent fixture in her circle.
AKA’s Squad: The Supa Mega has an array of best friends, ranging from fellow rappers to his creative team at his company, Beam Group. This diverse group consists of, Jr, Anatii, Yanga, Da LES (to mention a few). In one of his records, he raps: “One of my biggest idols is my best friend”.
This radio and TV maverick proves to move in a number of “squads." However, her friendship with top comedian, Trevor Noah, TV and radio host, Sizwe Dhlomo, Advertising wizard, Khaya Dlanga and Xolisa Dyeshana is all things #FriendshipGoals.
Anele’s other squad; this girl is doing the most in these #SquadGoals streets. Pictured here is Musician, Unathi Nkayi, Former reality star, Lerato Sengadi and Top comedienne, Celeste Ntuli.
Who can forget Pearl Thusi and DJ Zinhle; these beauties are like two peas in a pod. Their pairing seems genuine as they're always looking out for each other. Their #Friendship is on a 100.
