Africa's baddest Instagrammers

What originally started as a photo-sharing platform has turned into a lucrative business for those who know just how to crack it and enter the upper echelons of Instagram's elite.

The great thing about Instagram is that you can post photos about ANYTHING, a bunch of things or one thing in particular and that is how many have catapulted themselves into Insta star status. There are a number of articles praising stylish Instagrammers in particular but not enough paying homage to Insta baddies.

This is mainly due to the prejudice against sexually liberated women who know how good they look. Like, it's great to post your obscenely expensive shoes and avo on toast, just don't show us how great you look in lingerie.

You know how people are; it's only okay to know that you're pretty when they tell you that you are. If you decide that you're attractive, then it becomes a problem.

Whether you call them bad bitches or their less "vulgar" colloquialisms - baddie or bad-bad - you have had a few women come to mind before you even opened this article.

There is no universal definition for what a bad bitch is but in this instance, we'll assume the terms refers to a physically attractive woman, with a particular body shape who lives a luxury life usually funded by her business acumen.

The rise of the baddie can be attributed to pop-culture's recent appreciation for women with a particular set of curves - big or small breasts (depending on preference), a tiny waist and an abnormally large derriere (bum). This rise of the baddie has also given rise to the tendency to put down women who embrace and show their curves as though they were an achievement.

There is also a misconception that because they show their bodies on their accounts, they had sex with certain people to get where they are. Needless to say, that is not always the case and even if it were, it is none of your business.

I'm sure you've all seen those boring posts about how girls these days act like having a big bum is the same as having a degree. People basically popularized curves and then tried to shame women for being happy about having them. It would be amusing if it wasn't so dumb.

Despite all the criticism, the following baddies have taken the reigns and turned their following into enviable amounts of income - check out Africa's Baddest Instagrammers:

With 1.1 million followers and a cosmetics empire, the 26-year-old Kenyan model is the answer to the question "who is the baddest of them all." She was reportedly the first contestant to leave the Big Brother Africa house back in 2014 and has since turned all that interest in who she is into cold hard cash.
