South African award-winning rapper AKA and rising star Costa Titch recently dropped their joint collaborative album and the responses have been mainly positive. The Supamega was recently on YFM to chat about their latest offering with DJ Ankletap. He addressed some of the burning questions.

“The first music that people wanted to hear from me was after I went through all my stuff this year and whatever you know. People probably wanted to hear me talk about all that stuff but I felt like yo – summer is back!” Explained AKA.

The musician says that he wants to get the fun stuff out first and then he will deal with the heavy stuff on his album that is set to drop later on in the year. “I can’t come out all sad and heavy. Let me get the jiggy stuff out the way. You know do good vibes and everything. Obviously later in the year, my project is still going to come out. And then I’ll deal with all of that heavy stuff. You know what I’m saying?”

He also gave a shoutout to Costa Titch for sticking by him in the tough times. “Also credit to Costa because when everything happened we had to put everything on hold. It was like eix, is Kiernan going to sink or is he going to swim?” He said.

Kiernan recently did an interview with Thando Thabethe and it did not end well after she asked him about the passing of his fiancée Nellie Tembe following the interview he did with Thembekile Mrototo.

"We have to speak about the elephant in the room...you had a sit down with one of our own Thembekile Mrototo a lot of people felt like you said nothing in the interview. Do you feel a need to say anything about the incident that happened?" asked the host.

Unimpressed, AKA said that the situation is not just an incident but his life. "You wanna call it an incident this is my life bro. To you, it's an incident."
AKA then told her that it’s not her business when she asked him to speak about the experience.

"It's nobody's business but my own. It is something that I am living with in my life, it's none of your business," he responded.

Days after, AKA cleared the air on the interview and said that he is cool with Thando Thando. He was just triggered by the way she asked the sensitive question.

"For the record, I just wanna say that @thando_thabethe has always been in my corner from the start, even though everything that has happened this year. Unfortunately, I felt triggered by the way she asked her questions and I could have handled it better, after all, she’s just doing her job and all that," he explained and then apologized.
