Ever since the yummy African hero's appearance in Captain America: Civil War and the subsequent announcement of his upcoming stand alone origins film, Black people and South Africans all over the world have been waiting in anticiaption for the film's arrival.
This past Friday, the film's first teaser trailer debut during and NBA game and it has been all the internet can talk about all weekend.
We know that the Kani's will be starring in the film but it has recently been revealed that Connie Chiume, who most of you may know as Rhythm City's Mamokete, will also be starring in the film.
John Kani
Kani Senior plays the role of, King T'Chaka the king of the fictional nation of Wakanda and the father to T'Challa (Black Panther played by Chadwick Boseman).
Atandwa Kani
Kani junior will be taking on the role of a younger T'Chaka in flashbacks throughout the film.
Connie Chiume
Chiume will play the role of Mining Tribe Elder and got the role after auditioning for it here in SA and beating out all the men who auditioned for the role (as she was the only woman auditioning for it). She spent the months January and March in Atlanta filming her scenes.
Black Panther will be in cinemas early next year and we've already got our money ready because #BlackPantherSoLit
