After taking the Music Industry by storm last year, Amanda Black is a force to be reckoned with. Most may remember her from her Idols audition in 2015 with her jaw dropping version on Sia’s-Titanium. Despite being eliminated in the top 16 round of the competition, Amanda was destined to make her voice heard and her music loved by many.
The video went on to reaching over a million
views on youtube in March this year. The songwriter writes most of her music and
is determined to stay true to her roots.
Amanda who is often compared to The likes of Thandiswa Mazwai, Simphiwe Dana, Unathi and even Nathi, says she has taken a page out of their books but she is here to pave her own path whilst staying true to who she really is. It was only a matter of time before she gained recognition for her propelling voice. Amanda alongside Kwesta were amongst the biggest winners of the night for the SAMAS awards in May.
Amanda born Amanda Benedicta Antony has only been in the industry for a short period of time but we must admit,we can’t speak of powerful voices without mentioning this young lady. Its been a really great 2016 and even beginning of 2017 for her and she doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon. With dreams of one day owning her own record company, Amanda’s voice will continue to grace the airwaves.
