Former Bafana Bafana and Sundowns soccer star Anele Ngcongca will not be laid to rest anytime soon. His cousin Siyasanga Ngcongca announced through social media that Anele's funeral has been postponed as his mother is not well.

"We have to sadly postpone Anele Ngcongca Funeral as uMama is not well. She expressed that the funeral cannot continue without her. We made the decision that her health is important as a family and postponed the funeral."
The funeral has been postponed to the 10th of December 2020. The service will take place at the Gugulethu Stadium and will be streamed live on social media.
Siyasanga slammed Minister Nathi Mthethwa for being silent about Anele's passing despite the great contribution that he's made to South African football. She revealed that Minister Fikile is the only Minister who made contact with the family and came to check on Anele's mother.
"This man played for the World Cup Bafana Bafana with 50 Caps. But there’s silence. @MbalulaFikile is the only Minister that came to meet the family."

Ngcongca also revealed that the soccer star has been celebrated more in Belgium, where he used to play his football, than here in South Africa. According to her tweet, not even the minister or MEC has reached out to the family.

Anele lost his life on November 23, 2020, following a horrific car crash in the early hours of the morning. This came just a few days after the passing of his ex Mshoza.
