Music Is King made its debut in 2018 when the DJ invited fans to a spectacular night of music featuring some of the biggest acts from around the world in a variety of genres. From house (duh!) to Afrobeat to hip hop to techno, Music is King was a night for, well, music lovers of all backgrounds, ages and creeds. And it's coming back to town!
MIK 2.0 has just been announced and this year promises to be even bigger than the first edition of the concert series based on the massive announcement we've just seen. Black Coffee has revealed that this year the concert will be heading to TWO cities; Johannesburg and Durban.

"The International show Music is King is Back Again and proud to announce 2 electric Concerts in 2 Cities this December!
Taking place in Johannesburg on 14 December at the Ticketpro Dome and Durban on 15 December 2019 at Kings Park Outer Fields, Music Is King is coming back strong to provide the ultimate in music, art and fashion during a 2-day electric concert in Summer.
As all roads lead to the explosive shows, people can expect the best experience in music, art and fashion, as Music Is King will showcase a variety of music genres in both Johannesburg and Durban."
"Basically I'm putting together a show that is fully driven by music. I'm at a space where I'm starting to create music that is not described or pigeonholed into a genre and I feel that music should be celebrated and not divided. It divides people and beliefs but this show is all about celebrating music. It's not about house music it's not about hip hop it's all about the celebration of music"
Last year's #MusicIsKing concert was also accompanied by a special album which gifted us with some of the hottest Black Coffee tracks we've come to bump in the months since. Music is King the album featured Msaki, Samthing Soweto and a host of bubbling under talent from the Mzansi music scene. Do you think we can expect a Music Is King II to acompany the second edition, which takes place in two cities? It makes too much sense not to!
