Blxckie As A Cheat Code Works For Elaine

Elaine is the South African R&B sensation who back in 2021 shook the world with her debut EP Elements. The EP was so successful that it managed to get Elaine signed to Columbia Records, meaning she shared a roster with the likes of international pop stars like Beyonce and Adele.

However, her signing with the major international record was bittersweet. Specifically, in terms of her local fanbase. As such, her popularity seemed to wane in the past two years. More so in terms of the reception of her latest releases which have arguably failed to have the same impact as her debut EP.

But it seems that Elaine has found a cheat code which has allowed her latest single to garner some traction.

Blxckie as a cheat code works for Elaine

Ahead of releasing her first official single of the year Loving You, Elaine has already confirmed that the single would feature Hip-Hop artist Blxckie.

As such, it came as no surprise when the single was released, it managed to earn Blxckie bragging rights on social media.

This is as there were suggestions that Elaine, like other contemporary artists, had used Blxckie as a cheat code to earn a chart-topping single. This is as since Blxckie has broken out into the music scene, he has been considered an easy feature which guarantees that any song he is on will trend at least.

It seems that Elaine used this fact to garner some traction for her new single. A single remains in her R&B pocket. This is unlike the confusing direction she had attempted to take towards the end of 2022. This was when it seemed that the singer-songwriter was looking to tap into the popular sound of Amapiano.

A matter which was received with backlash at the time when the video of her and Focalistic working on new music was shared. As reported at the time:

Recently, Elaine has been releasing singles which have failed to trend or make an impact. The first single was titled Shine, the second was titled Deja Vu and her last and most recent release was on Friday, 7 October 2022 titled Fading Away. All songs which have failed to make any kind of impact on radio or music charts, unless we just do not know about it. It is for this reason that she might have jumped on the current wave of Amapiano.

Social media, Twitter to be specific, is not a safe space to share a change in your career path if you are also not sure about the matter. Case in point, Focalistic and Elaine hosted an Instagram live where they shared the new Amapiano single they worked on together.
The untitled song samples the classic hit by Lebo Mathosa Tsodiyo from her even more iconic album I Love Music. Upon hearing the song, it did not take long for tweeps on the blue app to start sharing their opinions on the song and the change in direction, musically, for Elaine
