Ever wondered what careers or jobs your fave celebrities would get into just in case they left the limelight? Better still, ever wondered which of our most loved Zalebs have regular jobs? Well, think no further.
We have put together a list of celebrities with regular jobs and those who have fully left the limelight to fully focus on leading a normal life.
Dr Musa Mthombeni
At the top of the list is none other than Dr Musa who, as we all know, other than working as a TV presenter also works as a medical doctor. And while this meant that he exited the limelight for quite some time, we have to agree that it has agreed quite well with his role as medical journalist.
Dr Musa hosts his very own health show on SABC 1 and we love to see the many strides he is making in his career so far. Can we also talk about how well he is always loving his beautiful wife?
Carol Bouwer
This media personality is one that many have grown to know and love. From the days of Buzz, the 90s dating show, up until now, there is no denying that Carol remains one of the most acclaimed presenters Mzansi has ever seen.
After being in the industry for quite a while, Carol decided to take a bow and is now running her very own production company, Carol Bouwer Productions, and have so far produced films like Nowhere Land and Hooked.
Despite her exit from the media industry, it is good to see that she continues to make a name for herself as a successful business woman and we couldn’t be any happier for her.
Mandisa Nakana
The former Yo TV presenter was one of the most entertaining media personalities Mzansi has ever seen. But after getting married and moving to the UK, Mandisa decided to pursue a much different career of being a psychologist.
Many still miss her gracing our screens but between raising a family and moving to a completely different continent there is no denying that this new normal is treating her very well. Speaking on her old TV days and what she misses about it, Mandisa says,
Having the opportunity to collaborate with Disney on Cartoon Cafe was a game changer, we were able to share the ‘only the kids who can afford MNet’ programs with EVERYBODY! Yo.TV crossed superficial lines like colour, and social status by recruiting a group of kids who came from every colour and background imaginable. How did this happen? In a country only two years into its democracy! AND they found talented kids who pulled it off. Ask anyone, from any other country, and they’ll tell you it’s freakin’ amazing!
Selae Thobakgale
Yet another YoTV presenter who stepped out of the limelight is Selae who is now working as a strategic director and consultant. She is currently running her very own consultancy agency, The Strategy Network and there is no denying that things are working out well for her.
She came back into the limelight (unintentionally) when she was spotted attending Minnie Dlamini’s wedding not too long ago with her date in arm. And since then, the public has gained a bit of an interest in knowing what Selae’s been up to since her heydays on YoTV.
Precious Kofi Schamel
Precious Kofi, a former television host and producer, was a true gift to the media industry. She flexed her presenting skills on SABC 1’s variety show, EMS V1 in her early days in the entertainment industry.
After getting married not too long ago, Precious moved to the States and is now reportedly leading a new life as a fitness coach. Although she’s not much of an active and open social media user, the mother of two occasionally drops some blogging activities and a newly launched podcast called, At Your Core With Precious, that are keeping her busy.
Looks like being off the limelight is still doing some justice on these Zalebs and we are happy to see that they have found their way and are leading happy and normal lives. Tell us, would you still love to see them back on our screens?
