Caster Semenya is undeniably one of Mzansi's most precious jewels and to honour the legend, ending the year on a great note, the star covers the latest issue of Forbes Women Africa.
This year has been a roller coaster for the middle-distance runner Semenya - from hard-earned celebrations to legal battles, there couldn't have been a better time to honour the public figure who has become a great inspiration, both in the LGBTI community and the sports industry.

In the issue, Semenya talks about winning against all odds.
The gold medalist has been quite topical this year as many of her fans rallied behind her after the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) introduced a new rule that would force Semenya to take medication to lower her testosterone levels, and she has since taken legal action against the association.
In the midst of all that drama, the athlete has had a lot to celebrate this year as she obtained her sports science qualification, joined the Nike “Greats” viral campaign with renowned athletes by the likes of Serena Williams and Colin Kaepernick, and even got an opportunity to meet her idol, Lebron James.
