SA’s most iconic luxury designer, David Tlale, will abandon his love for the colour black for the first time in his 15-year career as he turns the runway red to unveil a special, once-off collection based on the colour red, titled 'RED by David Tlale', at this year’s Vodacom Durban July.
With dramatic showmanship at the heart of Tlale’s inimitable design aesthetic, the collection will consist of 10 unique looks, each showcasing Tlale’s take on the colour.
“We are hard-wired to red. There is no other colour that is so fundamental; so fused to our primal, human itch that it stops us in our tracks. I couldn’t think of a better colour for the individual who expects more,” said Tlale in a statement.
With his legacy of lavish beauty, RED by David Tlale will, however, stay faithful to the opulent designs and enticing silhouettes that have come to define Tlale’s career and all will be revealed when the collection debuts at the Durban July Main Stage.
