Fast forward to 2017 and David Tlale has surpassed any of our expectations when it comes to his success.
New York Fashion Week
One of David's most memorable achievements to date was when David Tlale was the first South African to showcase his work at the 2012 Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in New York.
The 2015 Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in New York saw David Tlale return onto the runway with even more stylish garments for his 2015 Summer/Spring Collection which was led by international model, Tyson Beckford.
In an interview with Afrikan Spot David mentioned that he wanted Tyson to open up for his Summer/Spring Collection showcase and also added that it was a bit of a nerve-wracking experience as he had not fitted Tyson for his designs.
Luckily with a bit of help from Tyson's agent, David was able to design fittings for Tyson who later opened up the show for the South African designer
Awards
In 2014 David was also presented the Icon of Hope Award as well as well as an award for Designer of the Year in the African Diaspora for his efforts in continuing to represent African fashion to the world.
In 2016 he continued to win more awards at the Bryanz Style Fashion Awards where he was awarded the Style & Fashion Icon Achievement Award and the Male Continental Style & Fashion Influencer Award.
We have no doubt that there are still more achievements to come for David this year.
We hope David has a splendid birthday and may he enjoy more birthdays to come.
