The Diepcity star returned to set after being away for close to a year. She once revealed that she was away from the spotlight and immobile for months.

“This, I have missed, what a journey, Thank you, God... for another opportunity to do what I love, the only thing that heals me. I am indeed back on my feet again, thank you God and my ancestors. Thank you to everyone that supported me during this journey.”

She had previously released a video addressing her knee injury to her fans and stated that she is not pregnant, as some people speculated that she was.

"On the 16th of April 2021 while doing something that I love doing more than anything else in the world, a terrible accident happened," she wrote on Instagram.

"It’s been such a difficult month already and we are only on day 4/5… In April I injured my knee on set so that month that I had to go for surgery, I have been immobile for three months.

“After the physio, that’s why you guys could see pictures of me just in one place. I didn’t want anyone to know that I was injured because I needed to heal on my own. It was a tiring period, emotionally I was tired, I was depressed because I couldn’t do anything.”

She even explained that she could not move even to go to the bathroom.

“But it has also been a good 4 months in that, I have just been sitting in my bedroom I can’t move. There was a time when even going to the bathroom was a mission, even taking a shower was a mission. I needed to be taken to have a shower and the bathroom. That was the most tiring period, the most depressing period of my life.

“So I decided that I was going to keep it to myself, I was going to allow myself time to heal because being immobile when you are the person that I used to moving around and being hands-on is very frustrating,” she said.

She then addressed the pregnancy claims, “That’s another thing that I want to set straight, I am not pregnant, I wish I were, I just have a knee injury and I have been trying to communicate this to people.”

Dawn's mental health took quiet a knock so she also advised her fans accordingly when it came to mental health.

“I am emotionally tired and it Is okay for me to say that. I think if I say I am emotionally tired it will encourage someone out there who Is emotionally tired and drained to say they are emotionally tired and drained,

“I think you guys think that because we are in the limelight we work on television it is just a job. It’s a job that comes with a lot of demands, when we finish shooting, we still need to come home and be moms, partners, daughters, and sisters and sometimes listen to the problems of other people when we are tired. But what happens when we are tired emotionally and psychologically?” she said.
