Gospel sensation Dumi Mkhostad, and artist manager Aviwe Gqoma, have let bygones be bygones following their unholy fight online. They two had a heated exchange earlier this week, where Aviwe slandered Dumi's name in a jaw-dropping thread. This comes after he accused Dumi of sleeping with men for money.

In a now-deleted thread, Aviwe wrote "“makhe ndiye e toilet ngempundu zam ezingazange zangena ncanca yenye indoda for imali (let me go to the toilet with my bums which have never been inserted with any man’s penis for money)"

The damning allegations propelled Dumi to take the legal route. According to a statement from Dumi's legal team seen by Drum, the lawyers said although the post had been taken down, it had damaged the award-winning gospel star's reputation.

The letter instructed Dumi to retract his statement and issue an apology within seven days.

Taking to his social media accounts on Thursday, 09 December 2022, Aviwe and Dumi shared a joint statement where they apologized to each other.

Dumi issued a detailed apology where he said after a lengthy three-hour meeting they finally decided to call a truce.

He described what happened during the meeting. "During the meeting, we came to the realization that the combined effect of what we regardeds as minor issues fastered into a wound that made us say hurtful things to each other, without paying due attention to how our perspective brands would be affected.

Dumi has also apologized for taking a jab at Aviwe “As a devout Christian I believe in forgiveness. That's why I was the first to tender an apology at the meeting. I accepted Aviwe's apology based on the same principle,” Dumi wrote.

The allegations that Dumi sleeps with men are not true, according to Aviwe, since he has no evidence to support them.

“The truth is I have worked with Dumi on numerous occasions and we have spent time together at various events. Not once have I seen evidence of the rumours that he was gay.

“On the contrary, before he got married, as young single men we were openly attracted to women. Having also accepted his apology to me, I wish to extend my apology to his wife and family, as well as his fans, and wish him all the best in his musical career.”
