While there is the popular narrative that South Africa does not have notable “celebrities,” which are comparable to Hollywood A-listers. No one can die that many musicians in South Africa have an avid cult following of fans that go to extreme lengths to show love and support to their musical idols.
This as he tours internationally and has collaborations with the likes of Davido. Despite his international acclaim, Focalistic is still very much proud of his Pretorian heritage as seen with the release of his latest album Ghetto Gospel. An album which continues to pay homage to his hometown.
As such, it is no wonder that some fans have gone to extreme lengths to show their support, and Focalistic has reciprocated that same love.
Focalistic meets superfan who tattooed his face
Back in March of this year, Focalistic took to his Instagram to share an image of a die-hard fan who got his face tattooed on his back. The fan who goes by the Instagram handle bapstar_ rsa has dedicated his social media to the Tabela Hapa hitmaker. As such, Focalistic, at the time, had not met the fan in question. But he did use his social media to show his gratitude as he posted the image and thanked the fan by captioning it with:
“I’m forever humbled. The love is never taken for granted… Thank you.”
Given how busy Focalistic has been internationally, the two had not met in the months since he publicly thanked the fan on social media. That is, until recently during one of Focalistic’s recent performances. Given the fact that the fan was willing to tattoo his face, it comes as no surprise that during the meeting, he was tearful when meeting his idol.
Focalistic again showcased humility in the manner in which he received the fan, even using his caption to assert that he will continue striving for greater heights to honour the pedestal he has been placed.
We finally met 🥹❤️ This is what we do it for. I won’t let you down ntjaka 🤞🏾🥷🏾 Squad Sa Maradona, YOURE THE BEST SUPPORT SYSTEM!! Ka Le rata!! 😇 pic.twitter.com/JkilL6FtLj
While Focalistic might be humble in his response to fans who seemingly laud him. Other ZAlebs are not so humble. Case in point, rapper AKA. This comes a few months back when AKA met a fan who not only cried at seeing the Mega, but went as far as bowing in front of him.
However, unlike Focalistic, who took the compliment. AKA took the moment to social media to drag the fan for filth. An ironic stance considering that AKA himself has a tattoo of Michael Jackson on his body. But could not have the grace of welcoming and thanking the fan in humility. But seeing as Keirnan has turned his life to the church, who knows, maybe the next time a fan is star-struck, he might have a different response.
