Former Generations actress Latoya Makhene is rumored to have been scammed a hefty amount of R8000.00 by a bogus event organizer. The unknowing Latoya Makhene was approached and promised a gig that will pay her a reasonable amount to attend the birthday celebration of Dr. Shauwn Mkhize.

From a post making rounds on Facebook, it is reported that actress Latoya Makhele was approached by a bogus event organizers , whose company is still unknown at this point. The unknown event organizer promised Latoya Makhene to be paid an amount of R30 000.00 to attend Durban businesswoman's birthday celebration Dr. Shauwn Mkhize.

As Facebook user Mandla Zondi has relayed the story together with the details that corroborate the alleged scamming taking place. Zondi continued to mention that Latoya Makhene was then asked to pay upfront an amount of R8000.00 after she was sent a bogus proof of payment confirmation into her bank account.

"Generation actress got scammed R8000.00. She says she received a call from someone who intended to hire her to appear at KwaMamkhize's birthday celebration which was taking place at Max's Lifestyle, where they promised to pay her R30 000.00 plus R8000.00 for transportation" wrote Mandla Zondi

Mandla Zondi continued to mention that a lot of sketchy details came into play while the bogus organizers was wooing Latoya Makhene. As the organizers proceeded to request a full payment of R8000.00 to Makhene for booking flights for her transportation.

"They then proceeded to send her a bogus proof of payment. However, on top of that they requested an amount of R8000.00 upfront for booking flights and other transportation. It wasnt until 4 days later that Latoya Makhene realized that she has been scammed" wrote Mandla Zondi

Facebook users have taken under comments to criticize Latoya Makhene for being gullible at these scamming tactics. Meanwhile others users have called this whole situation as karma, since back in 2021, Latoya Makhene was reported to be owing e-hailing drivers of their salaries.

A video that was circulating on social media of e-hailing drivers who picketed outside Latoya Makhene demanding their unpaid salaries.
