Is there anything worse than walking to the point where you last left your car and realising it's no longer there? In our eyes, there are few things more devastating in life and unfortunately, a number of us have had to go through this kind of trauma at some point in our lives.
Celebrities are people too and like us, they are not exempt from the scourge of crime that runs rampant across South Africa. We've seen celebrities suffer hijackings and robberies, some so fatal that our stars weren't even able to make it out alive.
And, of course, we've also seen celebs fall victim to Grand Theft Auto. It's never pretty when you have to take to the timeline and plead for assistance from the masses but these celebs were left with no other choice:
Thinah Zungu
Gospel star Thinah Zungu made all the wrong kinds of headlines this weekend after discovering that his Ford Ranger had been stolen from outside of a hotel in Durban. He said to Daily Sun, “I was attending an event at the hotel and came out at 9.45am to find the car was not where I left it.”
Shimza
Poor Shimza didn't have a good start to the year. Months after being blasted for his part in the breakup with K Naomi, the DJ woke up to realise his expensive Mercedes Benz had been stolen from his garage. To say he was devastated would be an understatement...
P Dot O
P Dot O had his car stolen on Freedom Day and then had to somehow perform in front of a crowd of people despite clearly not feeling in the mood. Somehow, he managed to put his fans before his emotions and gave them a sterling show.
Mmaausi
Imagine having your car stolen while you're at an awards show?! That's exactly what happened to Mmausi just three days ago after the singer's ride was nicked as she was winning an award at the South African Traditional Music Awards.
Boity's Mom
Boity's mom might not be a traditional celebrity but we were all hurt on both her and her daughter's behalf when her car went missing back in 2016. The robbers got away with it, but Boity and her mom had the last laugh when the presenter bought her mommy a brand new ride a few years later.
