Ladysmith Black Mambazo team up with US jazz legend

One of South Africa’s biggest exports, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has bagged yet another big international collaboration.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo is set to collaborate with American jazz saxophonist, Kirk Whalum.

Kirk, who is also an acclaimed songwriter, toured with the late Whitney Houston. He also performed the tenor saxophone solo on Whitney’s hit single, I will always love you.

The four-time Grammy Award winners will perform the song with Kirk at a concert planned for Durban later this year.

The group’s manager, Xolani Majozi, told Sunday World they also just collaborated with legendary Zimbabwean musician Oliver Mtukudzi.

“We have done remarkable collaborations with the world's greatest artists, including Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, Paul Simon, Salif Keita and the late Michael Jackson, to name just a few,” he told the publication
