We were as taken aback as the viewers by Sia Xaba’s (Langa) untimely exit from the telenovela. In an attempt to find out why he is leaving the drama, we reached out to a representative of Mzansi Magic and they said that no official statement would be issued as the story is continuously evolving.
This has left us with a big question mark about Siya’s future on the show. Will he be returning at some stage in the future? Will he keep appearing to the Molefes or the Dlamini's in visions or are the details surrounding his exit sketchy? Only time will tell.
The cast and crew of Gomora threw him a farewell party at their studios. Everyone gathered around to hear him give a speech about his stay in the drama.
“Thank you, everybody, it’s been an amazing journey. I know it’s not like this but I have to say. I’ve been thinking about it the whole day.” He said in part.
“But it’s been an absolute honour and a privilege working with all of you over this past year and a bit. From the crew members, absolutely amazing. Thank you for being there for me whenever.”
Former Gomora actress Ama Qamata was also in her feels and took to Instagram to wish her friend a happy farewell. “Happy farewell Siya. Y’all I couldn’t even watch yesterday’s episode because I would literally fall apart.” Shared an emotional Ama with Langa. “Siya Xaba as this chapter closes, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that God has opened up so many other doors for you. Your talent is beyond anything I’ve seen.!! I can’t wait to see you flourish and show the world your magic. I luh you my dawg.”
Producer of Gomora, Lulu Hela described Xaba as one of the best actors she’s ever worked with. “Easily one of the best actors I’ve had the privilege of working with. We could never have picked a better thespian to play the role of Langa Ndaba on Gomora. And this is one of the roles where we knew early on, that we had found our Langa. He was that good!”
