Fans of Gomora Mzansi were shocked after one of the telenovela’s leads, Langa, played by Siya Xaba. No one could have anticipated his exit as we all thought that he’d be an integral part of season two. He died following injuries sustained from a fire at Mam Sonto’s tavern. After spending two nights at the hospital – doctors did all they could to save him but unfortunately, it was not enough.

The fire which resulted in the death of Melusi his son was started by his wife Gladys. No one knows about it yet. She infuriated after Ntokozo informed her that Mam Sonto was responsible for Mohato’s death. Desperate to avenge him, she poured gas in the tavern and set it on fire. Her stepson was stuck inside. When he realized that the structure was burning down, it was already late as he was trapped inside.
Fans and colleagues of the rising star took to social media to bid him farewell.
Series producer Lulu Hela says that she believes that South Africa is yet to see the best of Langa as he still has so much more to offer. “Siya Xaba. Easily one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with. A perfectionist. A writer. A director.
He’s accomplished so much at such a young age! There’s no doubt that his star will continue to shine as brightly as his spirit does!” She said about the actor.
Gomora fans should not have to worry about Xaba not finding work as he is a multi-talented guy. In April, he announced that he is working on his film through his production company, starring SiphesihleNdaba (Mazet Gomora), and Ama Qamata (Formerly Buhle on Gomora).
This new season of Gomora has lived up to the promise made by Lulu that it’ll be epic. Still very early in the season by we’ve come across so many twists and turns. At this point, no one can even predict what is going to happen next.
“Our passion project, Gomora has been renewed for Season 2!! Grateful to our exceptionally talented and hardworking cast and crew for creating magic every day! Grateful to our fans and supporters, thank you for loving our show as much as we do!!” Lulu posted, thanking fans and Mzansi Magic for the continued support.
