Just to be clear, Mr Lindelani Mkhize and co. are not holding any Joyous Celebration auditions sorry guys. However, the music producer is presenting a two-day state of the art production, titled Ignite which is aimed at showcasing South Africa’s undiscovered musical talent across all music genres.
ZAlebs caught up with the music producer to further explain his role and what he’s looking for, for this new musical production.
Mr Mkhize explained that Ignite will be totally different from other shows like Clash of the Choirs and I want to sing Gospel that he’s worked on.
“Ignite is very different and I think it has made me realise that there is something missing in the local music industry. For example, Clash of the Choirs is meant for TV, once the TV show is done, there are no follow-ups on the contestants who participated.
But what truly concerned me was that before the actual show there was no proper training and grooming of the artists. They are brought in, rehearse, prepare for the show then are expected to deliver and it’s totally understandable because that show is meant for TV.
However, with Ignite we want to teach artists to really understand the music and song they’re about to perform. Ignite is really about moulding the artist and preparing them with all the tools they need before stepping onto the stage.”
Lindelani Mkhize further emphasised that Ignite is not a competition but a platform that is created to help aspiring musicians with their careers, a platform where you are moulded into becoming a professional musician who will then be given an opportunity to present their talent on stage.
For those who are interested in being a part of Joyous Celebration, Lindelani Mkhize also explained that there are no Joyous Celebration auditions at the moment as the auditions took place last year.
Lindelani also told ZAlebs that he's looking for musicians he can add value too and artists who are ready and willing to learn what he has to share as an experienced professional in music.
Online auditions for the show will end on the 22nd of July.

The official Ignite show will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of September at the Joburg Theatre.
