With so much going on for him, what’s next for Marc Lottering?
In your 13 years as a comedian what’s the one thing that still baffles you when performing live shows?
People who confidently arrive at 9pm for an 8pm show. Why Larry, why?!?
What can fans expect from the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival?
The Cape Town Jive Festival is rocking! Fans can expect to hear funny stories and to see me in a really great suit. I’m feeling warm and tingly just thinking about it!
Khanyi Mbau, Babalwa Mneno and Nonhle Thema are set to launch their new reality TV show Reality Check. Would you watch their show?
I generally don’t watch reality shows but I think I just may catch this one. I am always highly entertained by Khanyi. Also, I like to keep up with the latest trends in weaves…
What’s the best place to write your comedy material or do you just formulate it in your head?
With friends, at some bar. Some of the best ideas happen after the second round.
There are quite a number of UK comedians who’ll also be performing at the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival, out of all of them who would you want to go head to head with in a ‘Yo Mama’ battle and why?
Kev Orkian without a doubt! He is completely insane, both on and off stage.
Besides your local gigs do you have anything in store for your international fans in the coming year?
I don’t like talking about stuff until I sign on the dotted line but I do believe that 2014 is going to be exciting. As far as international audiences go, I’m painfully monitoring the exchange rate in the hopes of popping over to the UK. It’s been way too long – I’m missing that “Mind The Gap” lady too much.
The Jive Cape Town Funny Festival brings some of the world’s supremely talented local and international comedians together for a hilarious showdown at the Baxter Theatre from Monday, 10 June to Saturday, 7 July 2013. Get your tickets through Computicket.
