With all the success Master KG has acquired, his fans often sing his praises, but he asks that they refrain from calling him "Grootman."

It is no secret that Master KG is one of Mzansi's most talented music producers and proof is in the pudding. Seeing the DJ reap the fruits of his labor is a beautiful thing to see, especially considering how far he's come in his life. Master KG is the epitome of success, and he is not one to shy away from flaunting his expensive set of wheels, houses, and designer items on social media.

His global hit Jerusalema took his career to greater heights, and he continues to blaze a trail in the music industry today. In a tweet, Master KG said he has been noticing that people are calling him grootman and he is uncomfortable with that.  ""I don't wanna lie..I get so many people calling me "grootman" nah its weird...im only getting started it is still early days.. Let's rock," he tweeted.

A twitter user commented "It's just respect, it has nothing to do with age, grootman is like a hood version of Sir." Chris Excel commented "Financially you are older than us."
Master KG is currently facing a legal drama over the ownership of Jerusalema. He has been slapped with a lawsuit for the copyright infringement of the song by Charmza the DJ and Biblos.

Their action stems from their commercialization of the song and master recording, which were licensed from the Warner Music Group. They filed legal action against Master KG, Open Mic Productions, and Africori, whose majority shareholder is Warner Music Group.

Apparently Nomcebo Zikode wrote and performed Jerusalema and Charmza composed the song. Master KG had little influence over the song.  Master KG clapped back and said, "The reason Nomcebo came to My studio is because she liked my Jerusalema beat that I sent her weeks before studio day...and y'all are out here saying Nomcebo didn't like my beats on studio day and she liked other guy beats ai!! Take me to court and stop doing interviews," he said.

According to the papers, Charmza claimed to be the original composer and author for Jerusalema, "Our client authored the original melody of the composition, the beats and the arrangement of the song, melody and vocals."

The letter further states, "Our client was surprised to learn that Master KG simply proceeded to release the song commercially, through his record label at the time, Open Mic Productions, without contacting our client and without obtaining the required rights clearances for the use of our client’s copyright-protected music and musical composition.

"Our client did not transfer any rights of copyright through written agreement or otherwise and remains vested with all rights of copyright in the composition."
