While the friends, family and the acquaintances of Lumko 'Johnson' Leqela is still processing the untimely passing of them that took the whole nation by storm. Today, their are gathered at the Market Theatre in Newtown, Johannesburg for their memorial service.
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, who was also a friend friend to Lumko Johnson shared the news on Twitter. Mphela who has spoken extensively on their friendship together with Johnson still have no words to describe the shock that came this their loss.
"Lumko’s Memorial Service to be held at Market Theatre in Newtown on Tuesday (September 20) from 3PM" wrote Phil Mphela Phil Mphela - Twitter The family shared the news of their passing last week Thursday, in a statement the family didn't know elaborate on the cause of death. However, they have asked for privacy and respect during this trying time. The passing of the former YoTV presenter and YFM content producer really took a toll in those who were closest to them, especially in the entertainment industry.
"It is with great sadness we share the news of the untimely passing of our beloved Lumko 'Johnson' Leqela. They departed on the 14th of September 2022 following a short hospitalization. Lumko first entered the public realm as a young teenager on the popular SABC 1 YoTV platform. They went on to nurture a career in television broadcast and media at large. In their own words, Lumko was an 'Accomplished TV & Radio Super Producer, Actor, Writer and Big Deal in Most Spaces" reads the statement
