Nadia took to her Instagram to share the last WhatsApp conversation she had with AKA the day he passed on. The rapper was gunned down on Florida Road in Durban on February 10, 2023, by unknown men while outside the popular Wish restaurant.
The bragga hitmaker shared a screenshot of a Whatsapp conversation with AKA where they both advised each other to be safe. AKA updates Nadia that he is taking off and later updates her that he has landed in Durban.
Nadioa then asks AKA to send her the Mbuzi freestyle from AKA's album Mass Country.
"Unfortunately she did not respond to her messages as the incident unfolded in the evening. "The fact that these messages were never delivered because you were gone." she wrote.
It's a month since AKA was assassinated. Nadi posted a tribute message to AKA a couple of days ago. She expressed how heartbroken she is over his death.
“My heart is shattered. This is not what our future was meant to look like. I can’t believe I said my final goodbye to you yesterday. I’ll never see you again for the rest of my life. You loved me loud and proud, thank you, baby. Protected me, prayed for me, and, inspired me. I find it hard to breathe let alone find the words to explain how much I love you,” she wrote.
Nadia expressed her desire to spend the rest of her life with AKA, saying that she thought she would spend her entire life with him, but AKA is the one who spent his whole life with her.
“I’m going to miss all the special moments we’ve had. This hurts. I can’t come to terms with the fact that I’ll never hear you say you love me, I’ll never hear your laugh. We had plans.
“There is no pain bigger than the pain of losing you. I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with you, realize you’re the one who spent the rest of your life with me. I don’t know why things happen the way they do, but I’m questioning God right now. Why would He bring us together only to take you away? I don’t understand. I don’t know how I’m going to do this, going on with my life without you. I just can’t. Rest in peace Kiernan, I love you.”
Minister of Police, Bheki Cele told the media on March 7 that they have made progress in the murder investigation of the late rapper. According to him, his team has collected several cell phones from people they suspect of murdering AKA. However, that statement echoes what we heard days after AKA was murdered.
