Nasty C is well on his way to the top.
The rapper, who is earning his stripes in the local hip hop scene, is also keen to make it as a global artist. And that dream doesn't seem far-fetched, as he has revealed that Roc Nation has shown an interest in working with him.
He recently sat down with Mac G on 947, where he explained how the whole Jay Z team got hold of him.
He said Roc Nation international gave Roc Nation Africa the instruction to get his number and call him.
"So, obviously I got the Roc Nation Africa call first... I was in my hotel room in Durban getting ready for a show. So they called, they were like 'yo', they explained this story and were like 'yo, are you okay with this, should we send your number through, I was like 'yeah'.
"Bee-High called me, that's Jay Z's cousin..."
He told Mac G that they told him that they like what he does and that they'd like to work with him.
"We're still gonna figure it out so we're gonna come down for a meeting during the month or something," the Roc Nation rep told Nasty C.
The young rapper said he's now waiting for them to "come down" for the meeting. "And we'll see what happens."
He added that he understands that this is a huge deal.
Last year, it was reported that Jay Z had sent his cousin to Nigeria to find new talent. There, he met with a few artists, including Ice Prince.
The Nigerian rapper revealed in an interview that he was in talks with Roc Nation.
It looks like the Roc Nation family is loving African talent. Rumours have been flying around about Naija's Tiwa Savage also possibly signing to the label.
