Not so long ago, actress and media personality Nomzamo Mbatha left many green with envy after she had the honour of sharing a meal with the one and only Oprah Winfrey. Yes, while many of us only ever dream about sharing a table with Oprah, Nomzamo has that checked off her list.
There is no denying that Nomzamo is one of the most inspirational Zalebs who is continuously leaving a mark everywhere she goes. Just recently, the actress took to her Instagram to share about her latest gig in Kigali, Rwanda and fans have been gaping at how awesome this personality is.
In an Instagram post, Nomzamo goes ahead to narrate the experience that was her first international flight from South Africa and how many years later she is still very much committed to empowering the young refugees from all over Africa.
“The first time I ever got on an international flight and left South Africa was at the age of 15. I was selected by Save The Children Sweden to attend a youth seminar in Nairobi, Kenya. I was one of 3 young people chosen to represent South Africa. Upon arrival we met 50 other kids that came from all over the continent. We were asked to share in image form and discussion groups about the issues faced by young people back in our countries. My world opened up and reaffirmed me that I wanted to be one of the people that shape this continent for the better…”

It was not that long ago when Nomzamo took to her Instagram to mourn her sister who had died of suicide back in 2014. On her sister's heavenly birthday, she wrote a heartfelt tribute to her.
She wrote, "Year 7. Every year I bring flowers, a heart in pieces and tears of agony. This year I brought balloons and a heart on the mend to peace and halfway to true acceptance. Heavenly 27th birthday 🎂 🎈 to my twin and baby sister @carla_hd ... who loved DEEPLY AND LOUDLY. When she chose you, she truly chose you and would be your first line of defence like a true Scorpio. She was brave and true, honest, extremely kind and seriously funny. Courageous in every way, beautiful on all fronts and my very own soft landing. I will love her for all my days on earth and miss her equally as much…”
