The death of the legendary actor Patrick Shai sent shockwaves across the whole country. His colleague, The River star Hlomla Dandala recently leaked a video that he says was taken a few days before his passing.
"He loved what he did. Recorded approx one week before his passing #RipPatrickShai," Hlomla captioned the video.

In the video, Patrick is heard saying, "....it's a wonderful space, If I were to die after this production, it would be cited on my arrival to inyanya zam no unkulunkulu (my ancestors and God) that I have had the last great moment working with wonderful people at this wonderful company."

Fans have since taken to the comments section to react to the video, @babalwagib responded: "Ohh man, he knew that his time was very close. May his soul rest in peace."

"Oh wow, this some deep stuff Bhuku," Tazznginda also responded.
Patrick's memorial service will be held today at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 29 January.

His family recently spoke to Sunday World sharing that they are still in disbelief.
“As the family, this came as a bombshell for us, it’s still new, and no one expected this to happen, this came as a shock to us as a family, we are still digesting and having to make peace with Shai’s death.

“We have been looking out from him as the person we were learning from, it’s a serious loss to the family,” the family spokesperson Amogelang Mmusi told the publication.

Patrick's body was reportedly found in his garage at his home just a few days after he received backlash on social media.

Things went south for him after he challenged rapper Cassper Nyovest for a boxing match.

"Before I die, I want to make sure that I beat you so that on my tombstone they can write this is the man who beat Caster or Costa or whatever your sh*t name is ... Come you son of a b*tch,” Patrick said in a video that made rounds on social media.

He later apologized after being called out on social media for using strong language. His son also released a statement saying that the video embarrassed his family.

“You may have seen the videos that have been going around about my dad...I understand the impact that it has on him as a brand equally on myself as an establishing brand. His actions of carelessness and selfishness have put myself and my family under a compromising position.

“The embarrassment is severe to a point of no expression. I’m where I am asking myself questions like 'what happened to the doors I’m knocking on? “I type this highly emotional with teary eyes. To some, it may be funny and some of you under the severity of pain and embarrassment my family is in,” he said before concluding his statement and also thanking people for the love and support.

Apologizing for the video, the late actor said He Should Have Known Better As An Adult.
