Miss SA 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida has a big heart, we have always known that. And now she has turned her attention to an important issue going on in our continent, as she raises awareness for Somalia.

The beauty queen recently took to her Instagram to share posts on the current state in Somalia. She reshared posts done by her fellow beauty queen, Miss World Somalia 2021 Khadija Omarr, who is also a digital creator. The Somalian beauty queen talked about the current extreme drought in the country, which has displaced at least 245,000 people. The campaign also serves as her project for the Beauty With A Purpose category of the Miss World pageant, in which she made it to top 40.

It is great to see Shudu raise her voice in unison with Khadija. For all intents and purposes, they are competitors, both gunning for their project to be top one in the contest and to win the crown. But she has chosen to put aside their competition to join hands and champion for a worthy cause. We love to see a queen who rises above it all with her sights on what matters most.
Shudu is set to represent South Africa in the global contest, set to take place in Puerto Rico in March. As the competition draws closer, she recently announced that she has since gotten one step closer to her dream, as she made it to the Top 40 in the race.

The contest was initially supposed to take place in December 2021, but had to be postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, after a few contestants and members of staff tested positive for the virus. As the news hit social media, Shudu went online to thank her fans for sticking with her throughout the journey and promised to be back with a bang as soon as the contest returned.

The beauty queen has also been diversifying her portfolio and winning big. Her book, Shudu Finds Her Magic, officially hit stores a few weeks back, during which she held a big glamorous launch. The book serves as part of her Beauty With a Purpose project, as she elaborated in the Instagram post announcing it.

Shudu Finds her Magic✨Shudu finds her magic is officially out!✨ I’m so excited to announce that we’re launching the book today.

For every book sold one will be donated to @childlinesa and the South African Depression and Anxiety Group @sadag_official , who will help children with issues such as bullying and depression - and a host of other mental health struggles. Copies will also be given to literacy organizations like @biblionefsouthafrica which donate books to schools and libraries to help foster the love of reading.

This will form part of my @missworld beauty with a purpose campaign.
The book will be available in stores from tomorrow morning at all leading outlets nationwide!" She wrote.
She is very proud of the work she has been doing, and so are we. We cannot wait to see her crowned Miss World 2021.
