Internationally renowned filmmaker Tyler Perry took to social media to tease the third instalment of his Why Did I Get Married, to a great reception from his audience. South African actress Refilwe Modiselle saw this as an opportunity to shoot her shot for a role in the critically acclaimed film.

Responding to Tyler’s tweet, Modiselle encouraged him to go ahead with the film and asked to be cast. She shared her accolades and stressed the importance of showing diversity. “Yes you should & can you explore casting me (I've won awards for best actress for an international short film), so you can show diversification & Inclusivity of a black narrative not often explored. With all due respect Sir @tylerperry,” she tweeted.
Fans of the actress have been sending tweets to Mr Perry to give Refilwe a chance. While in an audition earlier today, the actress was asked about a moment in her life when she felt most included and she revealed that it was recently, when the masses endorsed her tweet about featuring in the new Tyler Perry film.
“Today I was asked in an audition interview. ‘When was a moment I felt the most included. I said for me honestly, it’s the first time my own people are supporting my tweet to Tyler Perry,” she tweeted. “The response has been overwhelming. THANK YOU Loudly. I pray the message gets to him.”
The model has had a great start to 2021 which could be an indication of greater things to come. In April she graced the cover of UK-based magazine I-M (Intelligent Magazine).
In the issue, the Zaleb about ‘prejudices and the horrific persecution people with albinism still suffer today.’ She shared the exciting news with her fans. “An international cover girl. My very first magazine cover & international, in the history of my career from Africa's first successful model with albinism & TV Host, to evolving into a multi-award-winning actress. Yet again history is being made It can only be God & the work of the thousands that walk with me from the heavens. Not many get to accomplish such. I'm in awe,” said Refilwe.
