The late Riky Rick's family has opened up since the passing of the award-winning rapper. His funeral and memorial details are yet to be announced.
The 34-year-old passed on earlier this week after he reportedly committed suicide. His family recently opened up to Daily Sun about his passing. The family's spokesperson Sheikani Makhado told the publication that they are devastated.
“There are no words to describe how we are feeling right now...Waking up knowing we had lost such a beloved family member was hard," he said.
Sheikani also told the publication that Riky's passing has hit his wife Bianca hard. He said his mother is trying to be strong for the sake of the family.
He added, "Our brother’s wife Bianca is inconsolable. We can’t dispute the fact that we shared him with the rest of the world, and we are appreciative of the messages of support we have been getting."
The family had released a statement earlier this week asking for privacy during this difficult time. According to the statement, Riky leaves behind his wife, two children, five siblings, and his mother.
"Affectionately known as Riky Rick across the globe, he was deeply loved by his family, friend, and the entire entertainment industry. His love for family, friends, and community is well known. Riky's nurturing and developing of young musical talent is well documented and will forever be remembered," the family statement read in parts.

Rapper J Molley shared that he spoke to Riky a few hours before his passing. He said he wishes he could have said something to help him.
“Riky literally called me yesterday to check up on me. Said he was dealing with similar issues. I wish there was something I could’ve said to get through to him but I know how it feels to be in that space of darkness. No one can get through to you."
He added, “You’re just waiting for that moment that you get the courage to finally end it all. Grateful to have known this man, was a true inspiration and believed in all of us more than we did. It’s your time to rest king, I’m proud to have known you. Sending my condolences to his family.”
Amapiano Star Lady Du also shared her last conversation with Riky. She said he told her to be strong.
