SA Celebrities stand up against slavery in Libya

Using their voice to create awareness of the injustice done to humanity

Ever since pictures of slavery happening in Libya surfaced, it has been a trending matter and everyone around the world have been trying to play their part in adhering to the situation, even our very own celebrities here at home have also tried to play their part in protesting against slavery using their platform to bring awareness.

Amongst various celebrities, Palesa Madisakwane posted a thought-provoking video on Instagram saying “I’m an African...I’m not a slave.” She said

Enhle Maphumulo started the stop slavery challenge, posting a black and white image of herself with a poster written stop slavery. Enhle captioned the image saying:

“Libya has been on my mind and as a black person my history is riddled with pain, yet our kingdoms were left rich with greatness.“
