Selbeyonce has managed to carve out a successful career in the limelight as a radio host on Ukhozi FM. The Ukhozi FM Drive time show host has long been known as an "openly gay man" but she has corrected people.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Selby opened up about her sexuality. Although she had always identified herself as a woman, she says the transition was not smooth.
'I think I have always identified myself as a woman, it’s just that I have never embraced it as much. Also there was a lot of confusion that was going on. I was not really comfortable about it," she opened up to the publication.
She said people speculated that she was undergoing surgery. She also opened up about the backlash she receives due to her sexuality.
“I get backlash every day, which I have become used to by now, but that does not make it OK. What has also made helped me live boldly was seeing other trans women living their truth, and standing up for what they believed in," she said.
Another one of our faves who has proudly embraced his sexuality over the years is Somizi Mhlongo. The media personality does not shy away from clapping back at trolls who spew their homophobia on his timeline.
He has had to defend Vusi Nova as tweeps often accuse him of being in the closet. In 2021, Somizi came out with guns blazing to defend his sexuality. Somizi questioned why people are obsessed with other people's sexuality.

"Angilwi ngiyabuza (I'm not fighting, I'm asking)..what's the obsession with other people's sexuality...its as if the answers will improve a certain aspect of your life....or as if it makes one feel better about themselves if they out someone else....trust me he is content and I hope you are too and enjoy your life," he clapped back.
Even though it's widely known that Somizi and Vusi are best friends and have been for several years. People still accuse them of secretly dating.
Speaking to podcaster Jon Savage earlier this year on his What’s Your Poison? Podcast, Vusi said that he does have a deep relationship with SomG as they’ve known each other for almost 20 years. However, they are not dating but have mutual respect for one another.
“I have known Somizi for 16 years. I met him before I even got into the music industry. He’s so real and supportive. Somizi is one of those genuine people that believes that if you have a dream, no matter how big, you can work towards it and achieve it.
"His success has been motivation for me to believe this is possible. Somizi is living proof that reaching your dreams is possible. It’s not often you find someone you are able to trust with your life and when you do find someone like this, it’s important to nurture that relationship.
"People out there are saying that we are dating but we’re not dating. We have mutual respect for each other and we trust each other a lot ... With us, it’s realness all the way. It’s been 16 years now and we’re still going strong,” he said.
