Sho Madjozi’s musical career has skyrocketed beyond borders and she is now in high demand both locally and internationally.
The musician has recorded many chart-topping tracks and she has also recorded a song with Coldplay's frontman, Chris Martin, and will be performing with the international artist at the Global Citizen concert in Johannesburg this year.
Taking to social media, Sho Madjozi revealed that she had been chosen as the only African artist to perform alongside Janet Jackson and Cardi B at the New York Global Citizen concert.
“I have some amazing news, unfortunately, it’s coupled with a bit of bad news...a couple of days ago we got a call from Global Citizen in New York City, they asked if we could perform this coming weekend alongside Cardi B, Janet Jackson, The Weekend...it’s a huge opportunity, previously there wasn’t an African on the line-up and then they chose me, I’m mind blown, I’m so excited for this opportunity," she said.
Speaking of the bad news that accompanied the announcement, the musician apologised that she would not be able to perform at the Homecoming Africa festival and other gigs that she might have had for this weekend.
“The bad news is that I’ll have to miss some of the performances that I had planned, to the organisers of Homecoming Africa, you know how much I would’ve loved to be there. Thank you so much for supporting me, for understanding and allowing me to go out there and chase my dreams...thanks for helping us take Africa to the world”
