Skeem Saam introduced Mzansi to Kwaito Seakamela, T-bose Maputla, Pretty Seakamela, MaNtuli, John Maputla, Meikie Maputla, and many other characters that they've grown to love or hate, depending on their storylines.
It is easy to forget that celebrities once were young before becoming famous. It's okay to throw back to the days when our favorite celebrities were just kids, but they've all aged gracefully, and were oh so cute back then.
A viewer of the soapie, which is set in both Johannesburg and Turfloop in Limpopo, decided to take a trip down memory lane with some pictures of the cast and we are loving them.
The images feature a childhood of Pretty Seakamela played by Lerato Marabe. It is amazing how she has grown and you can barely recognize her from the pictures.
Pretty got introduced to us as a teenager but now she is head over heels in love with Lehasa played by Cedric Fourie. The pair has become Mzansi's most desirable on-screen couple, and the audience cannot get enough of them.
You can also barely recognize Oratile Maitisa who plays Eunice, it looks like you've never seen her before, thanks to all the glow up.
It is unfortunate that some of the actors have left the show. This includes Shoki who portrayed Celia. In a statement the SABC bid farewell to her and said she will be remembered by the cast and crew.
"Boasting a whopping 26 years of her television career, Mmola has been playing the character of ‘Celia’ on Skeem Saam for 10 years and in that role has been one of show’s lead actresses, contributing to its accomplishments over the past decade. Always keeping fans entertained, Mmola has portrayed the character of ‘Celia’ impeccably," reads the statement.
Another actor who left viewers sad after leaving the show is Cornet Mamabolo who played T'bose. He took a break to focus on his business ventures. After his last episode, Mamabolo announced his departure from television on social media. He thanked the viewers for the support that they have shown him over the years.
“This is my official break from your screens as Tbose Maputla… thanks for all the support you have shown me over the years, I mean I literally matured to be the man I’m today before your eyes. This is a break for me to primarily focus on my insurance business; Digni Financial Services @dignifinancialservices Thanks Sis Winnie, SABC, cast & Crew for carrying me over the years. Till we meet again.”
