It's been a while since we felt the soothing drops of rain refresh our environment, and with the heat wave causing havoc throughout the country, it's important that we all play our role in saving water.

So in the midst of a water crisis, we asked a few entertainment personalties to share their water saving tips. Hopefully we can all put them into practice?

Here's what they had to say...

Minnie Dlamini

I always turn off the tap when I'm brushing my teeth... I take showers instead of baths, maybe a long bath after a long week. I guess you could also save water if you shower in pairs.

If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down. Hahahaha. Take shorter showers and don't water the garden between 6am and 6pm.

Tip 1: You can actually lengthen the life span of your clothes if you don’t wash it all the time. Rather air dry it instead of washing with water every time.

Tip 2: Keep your hair shiny, healthy, and glossy by not washing it every time. The natural oils are good for your hair.

Tip 3: Close the tap when brushing your teeth. Dont let the water run for nothing. Same applies to showering. Turn off the tap when soaping yourself. And turn on when rinsing, seems like a lot of work but hey it helps.

Always make sure your toilet is not leaking and check this while you're on it. Also remember to water plants deeply and not frequently, when cooking try to use small pots, this helps with washing dishes later.
