One actress we believe deserves more recognition than she actually gets is Elizabeth Serunye, popularly known as Principal, Thobakgale on SABC 1's educational soap-drama Skeem Saam.

Before pursuing a career in acting, Elizabeth was a lead singer in her high school choir. There was a time when she worked at a supermarket to make ends meet. She got her major breakthrough role on Soul City in 2006. This was followed by her much-loved role as Mapaseka on Moferefere Lenyalong and also Rhythm City as Rose, wife to Jafta.
The 49-year-old has also starred on City Sesla and Home Affairs. Elizabeth Serunye is a mother of three, two boys and a girl.
