Music fans will get a glimpse into what it takes to manage one of South Africa’s biggest independent record labels when Mzansi Magic’s new reality show debuts on Thursday.

Ezase Afro: The Empire shows the hectic day-to-day running of Afrotainment.

Afrotainment is the brainchild of DJ Tira, and has the likes of DJ Fisherman, DJ Cindo, Big Nuz, Anga "NaakMusiQ" Makubalo, and super producer Sir Bubzin on its line-up.

Actor and TV producer Thomas Gumede paid tribute to former Big Nuz member, Sbusiso "R Mashesha" Khomo, who passed away last year.

R Mashesha will reportedly make a few appearances on the reality show.

“Gone but never forgotten!! What you know about havin a reality show, while chilling in heaven!! RIP Sbusiso "R Mashesha" Khomo. I know you gonna tune in and watch with Brown Dash and all the other fallen soldiers,” Gumede captioned a picture on Instagram.

R Mashesha died in August 2015, months after a death hoax about the star went viral on social media.

DJ Tira confirmed that he had undergone an operation that led to complications.

According to a promo for the reality show, nothing is off limits on Ezase Afro, and viewers can look forward to seeing how Afrotainment handles its hectic deadlines for corporate clients and demanding studio sessions.
