The many times Zola made a comeback

You can’t think of Zola Dlamini and not be instantly taken back to your childhood. Remember those amazing days when television was filled with epic content, and Zola 7 was a big deal on SABC 1? We wish we could go back to those days. Ah, how time flies.

The musician recently announced that he’s coming back with another TV show. He revealed that he’ll be hosting a show called Hope with Zola.

Of course, fans welcomed the news with excitement. “The greatest news ever, bro. We needed you,” wrote one fan.  “Ahhh, best news ever. Welcome back to our screens,” another one said.

According to Sunday World, Zola has signed a deal with DSTV channel - Moja Love and will be tackling a lot of issues with this new show. Issues such as youth unemployment, housing, community libraries and more.

"It's a new era for everyone who believes their existence contributes to the survival of others. We urge every single person to get involved in bringing a change we all want to see," he told the publication.

This is not the first time Zola is making a comeback.

Utatakho

In 2015, Zola was given the opportunity to host Utatakho on Mzansi Magic. Speaking about the paternity testing show, Zola said in a statement: “I really wanted to be involved in this particular program because it tackles a subject that is very relevant to many South Africans, and very close to my own heart…” However, he didn’t last long on the show and was replaced by Nimrod Nkosi.

Ayeye

Zola also appeared on VUZU drama series Ayeye back in 2015. Once again, fans lost their minds about his feature on the show. After his TV return that year, we had a chat to him about getting back into acting: “I have never left acting, I have been around on shows like Inkaba although it was a supporting role. But acting is a craft I practice daily, it is a part of my life, although it can be challenging I wouldn't necessarily say it was difficult.”

And he’s not just a musician, actor and TV presenter, Zola is also a radio DJ. In 2017, DJ Sbu announced that Mzolisto, as he’s affectionately known, would be joining his radio station.  

He told the Huffington post: “South Africans have an undying love for Zola. Over the years, he has proven through his work that he cares about South Africa and the black child. He is very wise and sharp…”

We agree with Sbu! Mzansi loves Zola and we have no doubt that the new show will receive great support from fans.
