Nothing is as satisfying as seeing the results of your efforts on eradicating a certain vice that you have steadily worked on for a long time, and Zoleka can attest to this.
The mother of 6 is reflecting back on 12 years of not touching alcohol, or any substance abuse. Twelve years years ago, Zoleka decided to change her life completely by embarking on a journey of sobriety.
Taking to her Instagram Zoleka posted a picture of herself sucking a cigar with a lengthy and inspiring caption. She revealed that she had her first drink when she was 9 years old and her last cocaine binge at the age of 30.
‘This image of me sucking on a cigar (10yrs ago) is an abominable reminder of my smoking days, had my last cigarette in 2012 and my first one at the age of 13. I had my first drink at the age of 9 and my last one and the last cocaine binge at the age of 30. I’m so excited about celebrating my 12th year of SOBRIETY on the 11th of August, I literally can’t wait!!!,” she captioned the post.
Zoleka gave birth to her sixth baby Zingce Mandela in April, and she documented her delivery.
"A prayer and shout out to the best medical team, I could have ever asked for from my Paediatrician and all the nurses in the Neonatal ICU who looked after my baby and hospital staff! Biggest hugs to my OBGYN who allowed me to film the entire birth and my Anesthesiologist for helping me set up my tripod and camera (aka my birthing partner) for filming the birth and for capturing the most amazing images of when Zingce was yanked out of my womb!!! Zobuhle Jnr, we did it, baby!!! Awusemhle!!! Look how happy she makes me, the smile on my face as I was being cut open … I couldn’t wait,” she wrote.
She recently opened up about how Zingce is having a hard time at night. She said she misses sleeping peacefully. "Last night was a rough one, so was the whole day today - Zingce just wouldn’t let me sleep and she never wants me to put her down!!! Please wish me luck for tonight? The way I actually miss sleep, I thought I would miss sleeping more on my belly but nah … Good night, beloved hearts!!! May you all have a restful night!!! Love … The mother of 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 - ME!!!," she captioned the post.
