He's not just a young man with great looks and an amazing voice, but actor and model Zweli Dube is here to make a long lasting mark in the entertainment industry.
He's one of South Africa's most recognizable and sexiest models and also an actor who can be seen sharpening his skills on drama series Muvhango. Not only that but Zweli has also traveled the world to countries like Hong Kong, Australia and China as a cast member of the hit broadway musical, The Lion King in which he played the role of 'Scar' in.
Judging by the positive responsive we received from our Zweli appreciation article we decided to catch up with the actor to check what he's been up to lately.
"Nothing has been signed yet but I do have two films I'm going to be featured in. Both films I'm looking to have a lead role in and the modeling thing seems to be taking off pretty well also."
There's no doubt that ladies love them some Zweli whether he has his shirt on or off, we asked the actor if he's ever had any weird requests from his lady fans seeing that to some, he is the ultimate sex symbol.
"First and foremost, to me, it's all love, I take and appreciate it with both hands. I always stop to take a picture upon request, as a matter of fact, I've been in this industry since 2004 so I don't remember saying no to taking a picture ever!
To me it's also a spiritual thing, it's such a blessing for people to like, love and appreciate what you do and most importantly they embrace you. My philosphy in this industry is that I am not owed anything whatsoever, God has placed me in this industry for a reason and I do believe I am destined for greatness.
I'm always wary and careful about not appreciating such things but basically, I'm always willing to put a smile on anyone that comes along my way especially the ladies because they're probably my biggest following. In a nutshell, it's all love, look if I'm asked to take off my t-shirt to show some love of course, I'll do it, but I won't take off my pants [Laughs] but I'll do what I can to put a smile on people's faces."
In terms of his role on Muvhango, Zweli spoke fondly of its creator Duma Ka-Ndlovu and it's leading ladies Sindi Dlathu.
"I'm very much indebted to the producer of the show, Duma Ka-Ndlovu because he's contributed a lot to my career, Muvhango helped me showcase to people that I'm quite a versatile artist and that I'll be doing so many other things in 2017 in terms of going into studio and making music, but yes Duma has been very instrumental in my career."
Zweli also had some kind words to share about Sindi Dlathu and the rest of the Muvhango cast."
"She is just the most humble person I have ever met in this industry. I really enjoy how down to earth she is and that also goes for the rest of the cast. Everybody is just so supportive, even in the studio, I've never felt like I'm working with a diva or someone who is egotistical.
I've never had an issue with another actor, cast or crew member, it's all just been smooth sailing and I would contribute it to the kind of professionalism we have as actors on Muvhango." Said Zweli.
In case you didn't know, Zweli is also in running to be Mzansi's sexiest male, if you'd like him to win, head on over to his Instagram page to find out how you can make him the offical winner of the competition.
