The journey of discovering new talent is always one that is exciting to embark on especially when it’s a twenty year celebration of South African talent. One province that’s been focusing on the development of such talent is the North West which has been running the Taung Cultural Calabash Festival for the past twenty years.
The annual Taung Cultural Calabash is a unique youth based arts festival held annually in Taung, North West province and is aimed at discovering new talent through a series of auditions held at district level.
This year's celebrations have been taken to greater heights and the people of North West were treated to an exciting announcement at the media launch of the Taung Cultural Calabash held at Mmabana Taung Center. The initial festival is due to take place on the 26th – 28th September 2014.
Although the first leg of auditions has already taken place (They took place on the 16th of August) there are still alternative dates and venues where people will have the opportunity to audition. Have a look at the dates below and make sure you can make it to one of them if you want a chance to shine at the Taung Cultural Calabash festival.
