Sustaining a career and remaining relevant in the cut-throat entertainment industry can be a predicament sometimes. The celebrity status is a fickle thing to keep up with, one day you are a powerful brand tomorrow you a not relevant anymore. In 2019 have seen some real-life stories of high-profile celebrities who mysteriously fell off our radar.
Their names were once hot on the lips of South Africans. They were multi-talented and won the hearts of many South African’s but they disappeared.
The world of showbiz now boast of new faces who are making their mark in the industry but also we cannot dispute the fact the entertainment industry is very small in South Africa . Hence, it cannot accommodate every entertainer.
Some are leaving the industry to pursue other passions, interests and are living their best lives away from showbiz.
Big Nuz Danger
Mzi Tshomela affectionately known to many as Danger, was once South Africa’s Favourite artist in the music industry. He was part of Big Nuz which headed for splitville few years ago amidst jealousy allegations. The music group was headlined by Dj Tira, Mampintsha, Danger and the late R-Mashesha.
Since their life has not been a roller coaster ride for this musician. Danger launched his own record and entertainment company, 108 Entertainment and also released his singles but has since failed to impress many as he is nowhere to be seen and not relevant in the game anymore.
Sammy Sosa
The South African Radio Dj and presenter had a shaky relationship with the world of Showbiz. She was once on Metro Fm but allegedly given the boot for not being honest. Sammy announced she was returning to the industry, but we are yet to see what she will focus on.
Denise Zimba
Known for her character Mary, on Generations, the actress recently gave birth and disappeared on our TV screens. Hopefully in 2020 she will make a major comeback.
Zinhle Mabena
The Isibaya actress who married businessman Robert Ngwenya gave birth this year. Zinhle is currently raising her baby, but she disappeared on our small screens this year, we hope in 2020 she will return to the game .
Florence Mokgatsi
Florence Mokgatsi’s character was written off on Isibaya, the actress tied the knot in 2017 and welcomed her bundle of job but in 2019 she fell off the radar.
Mzambiya
The actor and musician has been in the entertainment industry for more than 10 years. He grew up in our front of our eyes and became a household name. He came out being broke and disappeared on our small screens.
Hopefully 2020 these stars will revive their careers and relevance in Television with their triumphant comebacks.
