Cassper Nyovest AKA Mufasa shared the inspiring tale of his family tree while announcing a performance in Malawi next month (that's if Covid doesn't put a damper on things).
The North West native took to his Twitter account to celebrate his origins story and which qualities he inherited from his Malawian grandfather.
The rapper tweeted: "Performing in Malawi in December. Always special for me cause that's where my family tree starts. My grandfather walked from Malawi with a group of friends and settled in Potchefstroom. Started a business from nothing and that's where I get my entrepreneurial skills from."
The initial comments to his tweet centred around Shepherd Bushiri, with one fan tweeting: "O bowe le Bushiri", to which Cass responded: "Hahaha yall Silly". The rapper has yet to share further details of his upcoming Malawi show/s.

Cassper – real name Refiloe Phoolo – was raised in Mafikeng and he's since become one of the continent's big stars. His roots have always been important to him, that's why his label is called Family Tree Records.

The hitmaker became a father recently, and a week ago he shared an Instagram video of his son, Khotso, named after Cass’s late brother. The muso shared an adorable conversation with his son – born in September – where the tot can be seen telling his father about his day, and how much he missed him.
This is far from the first time Khotso has made a public appearance: the cover of Cassper’s fourth album, Any Minute Now (A.M.N.), heavily references the star’s (then) impending fatherhood and features a baby scan as the artwork.
The album features collabs with legends such as Zola 7, who has largely kept a low profile for the past several years. Speaking about working with Zola 7, Cass said: “Zola is an iconic artist, I looked up to him as a young boy growing up in the North West, little did I know I would share the same studio and make magic with him.”
Despite having a good year and continuing with his social media outspokenness (even going as far as saying he’s the king around here), Cass has vowed to celebrate his wins and successes in private going forward because of people’s witchcraft.
“I'm learning how to enjoy my wins in private. This world is sooo crazy I be typing things that make me happy and I delete the tweet before posting cause yoh, BATHO BA LOYA GUYS!!!! Hehe!!! Protect your energy!!!” he tweeted.
Thank goodness celebrating in private won’t get in the way of his performances.
