DJ and radio personality Sabelo Mtshali whose popularly known as DJ Sabby has joined the SABC’s Metro Fm. This comes after his exit at YFM early last month. Sabby had been with the youth radio for a decade at the time of his exit.

Announcing the good news, Sabby tweeted: “What’s next, is all that matters. Officially part of the @metrofmsa family.”

According to the media statement released by the station, Sabby will be hosting the Metro FM Top40 Chart Show between 09:00-13:00.

“Metro FM is proud to announce its line-up for the 2021-22 financial radio year. With the changes experienced in the industry and radio broadcasting environment within the past twelve months, the station has worked to consistently be relevant and engage its audience on different platforms through its on-air personalities, ” the statement read.

Major changes took place at the Metro FM and other SABC radio stations such Ukhozi FM, and 5FM had to let go of its legendary radio host Rob Forbes and his co-host Fix Moeti. The youth radio YFM also axed 9 presenters.

Last month saw the axing of many popular radio personalities  at Metro FM, the likes of Luthando Shosha, Bujy Bikwa, Lebo Motswaledi Pearl Modiadie, Thomas Msengana, and many more.

The new Metro FM line-up for 2021-22 introduced familiar faces like Live AMP presenter Lamiez Holworthy. The new addition to the station will be hosting The Pent House Sessions with Lulo Café.

“A new chapter in dance music radio. Welcome to #ThePenthouseSessions @METROFMSA every Saturday 16:00- 19:00 hosted by @Lamiez Holworthy &yours truly,” tweeted Lulo Café.

The new line-up sees the move of Lerato Kganyago from The Bridge to ‘The Midday Link Up’ with LKG between 1200-15:00 with Melani Bala and Taz Singh. The show is replacing lunch with Thomas Msengana and Pearl Modiadie.

After speculations that Moeti ‘Mo Flava’ Tshiki will be leaving the station to replace DJ Fresh and Euphonik at 94.7, it is clear that he is not going anywhere as he is still lined up for the Morning Flava with Pearl Shongwe, Owen Hannie, and Moshe Ndiki at 05:00-09:00 Monday to Friday.

Dineo Ranaka remains on The Bridge with Somizi and Kgopedi Lilokwe between 09:00- 12:00.

DJ Sphectacula and DJ Naves will also continue to host the King Suite from 15:00-18:00 on Fridays with Lindi Serame and Angie Khumalo.

Robert Marawa will still be holding down the Marawa Sports Worldwide at 18:00-19:30.

SABC’s sports presenter Andile Ncube will be replacing Bujy Bikwa and on The Wkndr with Mpho Madise ‘MoG’ and Chente Janties.
